Megan is here!

Finally Megan Rose is here. She was 6 days early which I was happy about. I was ready to finally meet her. So I woke up and thought I felt weird but decided I was just being paranoid. I thought I broke my water the day before and I didn't, so I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. I just went and got ready for work like any other morning. However while I was trying to do my hair and makeup the pain got really bad. Even if it wasn't labor I didn't think I could make it to work like that. I may have scared the kids. Now looking back I would have truely scared them! So the contractions came fast and strong. They were coming at about 2 to 3 minutes lasting for 45-60 seconds. I was also having back labor which wasn't really going away in between my contractions. Joe was working out at the time and I didn't really want to bother him, but I finally called the doctor at around 7:15am. She told me to go right to the hospital. I went and was in so much pain I didn't think I could make it down the stairs at my house. Joe told me to jump on his back and he would carry me. He meant well, but did he think I could really do that? Then he said, "Well we aren't having the baby here, so you have to get down the stairs."
Fast Forward... I got an epidural (heaven) and the pain went away for about 2 hours. That was when I was texting people and thinking that this was going to be a breeze. Then I started feeling pain again in my back. They gave me more drugs, didn't really help. I was able to get through it for another hour and then it got really bad. At this poiny I was stuck at 7cm. and the baby was "sunnyside up" meaning she was facing the wrong way. Her head was getting stuck on my pelvis and she couldn't get it down any further. That was what was causing the back pain. My doctor said the drugs weren't going to stop that pain. Then Megan's heartrate starting dropping when I had strong contractions. The doctor put an internal heart monitor on her and her heartrate didn't sound any better to her. The doctor decided we had to have a c-section. At that point I just needed the pain to stop and for Megan to be OK. Of course I agreed and within 15 minutes she was born. Megan Rose Florio- 7lbs - 19 and 1/2 inches long. She is so cute. I can't tell who she looks like yet but time will tell. Oh and I am feeling good, not that anyone cares once the baby is here :)
