Home with Megan

Ok! So I am starting to understand that I am never going to get anything done again. All I want to do is look at Megan. And all she wants to do is EAT! It takes me all day to get in a shower and if I am lucky dry my hair. Oh well! She is so cute, I don't care. I also have a new respect for menopausal women. I know this sounds weird, but I have been having night sweats. My doctor says that it is my hormones regulating and getting rid of extra water that was retained during pregnancy. I want to know why no one warned me of this. I had to find out in the middle of the night when I woke up and had to change my clothes because I sweat throught them! I know-GROSS! I had no idea what was going on. So for all you women out there going through this same thing- I feel for you- it is the worst.
Anyway here are some pictures of Megan on the day she came home.

More Baby Megan Pictures

Megan is doing great! SHe was a little "yellow" this morning even though I didn't really notice it, so the nurses were keeping an eye on her feedings and dirty diapers all day. They are going to test her again in the morning to make sure that her numbers don't indicate jaundice. Who new the stress would begin in the first week of her life? Can't everything just go smoothly because she is so cute?
Anyway here are some pictures of her today!

Great Grandma with Megan

Megan is here!

Finally Megan Rose is here. She was 6 days early which I was happy about. I was ready to finally meet her. So I woke up and thought I felt weird but decided I was just being paranoid. I thought I broke my water the day before and I didn't, so I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. I just went and got ready for work like any other morning. However while I was trying to do my hair and makeup the pain got really bad. Even if it wasn't labor I didn't think I could make it to work like that. I may have scared the kids. Now looking back I would have truely scared them! So the contractions came fast and strong. They were coming at about 2 to 3 minutes lasting for 45-60 seconds. I was also having back labor which wasn't really going away in between my contractions. Joe was working out at the time and I didn't really want to bother him, but I finally called the doctor at around 7:15am. She told me to go right to the hospital. I went and was in so much pain I didn't think I could make it down the stairs at my house. Joe told me to jump on his back and he would carry me. He meant well, but did he think I could really do that? Then he said, "Well we aren't having the baby here, so you have to get down the stairs."
Fast Forward... I got an epidural (heaven) and the pain went away for about 2 hours. That was when I was texting people and thinking that this was going to be a breeze. Then I started feeling pain again in my back. They gave me more drugs, didn't really help. I was able to get through it for another hour and then it got really bad. At this poiny I was stuck at 7cm. and the baby was "sunnyside up" meaning she was facing the wrong way. Her head was getting stuck on my pelvis and she couldn't get it down any further. That was what was causing the back pain. My doctor said the drugs weren't going to stop that pain. Then Megan's heartrate starting dropping when I had strong contractions. The doctor put an internal heart monitor on her and her heartrate didn't sound any better to her. The doctor decided we had to have a c-section. At that point I just needed the pain to stop and for Megan to be OK. Of course I agreed and within 15 minutes she was born. Megan Rose Florio- 7lbs - 19 and 1/2 inches long. She is so cute. I can't tell who she looks like yet but time will tell. Oh and I am feeling good, not that anyone cares once the baby is here :)

OK so I am due in just about a week 10/26/09, but I think I am ready now. I really don't think my belly can get any bigger, so I think she needs to come now. If she is anything like me, she will probably be late because I want her to come early. (I hate when people tell me what to do too!)
Yesterday, I thought I was having labor pains, but they stopped and today nothing! I think she is teasing me. Great not only does Joe tease me, she does too!
Oh well, I am going to try and be patient and let her come when she is ready.
I hope my mom and dad feel better soon, so that if the baby does come, they can actually come see her.

I thought about starting a blog for a while and I guess there is no time better then now.
Today I am just over 38 weeks and I am dying to see what this little girl is going to look like. I am also scared to be a mom, but from what I hear that is normal. I guess she will come when she is ready. I feel like I have been waiting a long time so I am not sure why these last two weeks seem like forever for me.
I have so much to do, but I have no energy and I want to just sit on the couch and watch tv. I guess I should enjoy the time now because I think the baby will need some attention around the clock. I will have to say goodbye to sleeping late and not worrying about anything. Oh well! She is worth it
